Good News to Share!

My mom has officially completed 1 cycle of chemotherapy...which consists of 3 weekly visits! It has been a tough cycle - she typically feels fine right after chemo (she attributes this to the steroids that are given during treatment) but within 2 days she hits her low: joints ache, nausea, cramps, and the list goes on! That will usually last a couple of days and then, bam she is back for chemo and it starts all over again! Today she had a doctor visit along with chemo and the doctor shared that mom's blood test, which indicates her cancer/tumor marker, is outstanding! Before surgery my moms marker was over 700; right after surgery her marker was 450+..but today, today it was 125!! Praise God - that number is sooo amazing - in just 1 cycle of chemo her numbers dropped dramatically! It was really the boost my mom needed to hear...that all this pain and suffering is doing good to her body! I am so proud of how strong she is being, despite everything going on! I can't thank you enough for all the love, support, and prayers -- it all means so much! The kids did get back to a "normal" schedule...school started for them last week - YAY! It has been a great start to the school year and we are really excited about the new adventures this year will bring with all of them! Hubby is looking for a job since the restaurant he was working at closed down in early July; but he continues to push forward and we know the Lord will provide. My work schedule is picking up as the large project I am on gets close to go-live! But we are blessed - that is for sure!
