Update on Mom
I know it's been a few weeks since my last post...but things had appeared to be going well with my mom's chemo treatments. But, just this week she was admitted to the hospital for the 3rd time, in the last month! Each time she has been diagnosed with ileum - which causes her severe pain! The doctors tell her that it is a combination of the medications, chemo, and diet. She had issues before all this happened but now the pain is just excruciating. I'd ask that you pray for her - that the team looking for her is able to make changes (in something) so that she can get through the rest of her chemo treatment without this pain and weekly visits to the hospital.
Her chemo treatment has been going pretty well - she is experiencing many of the side effects: neuropathy, forgetfulness, tiredness, queasy stomach - but most of it she is able to work through and get on with her day (slowly). The timing was such that she'd be done with chemo the week before Thanksgiving - but I think now we are looking at 2 weeks past Thanksgiving; as each time she goes into the hospital her weekly chemo is postponed.
We are so blessed - her mom (my grandma) and her sisters (my Auntie's) have all come to help take care of her...which allows me to be able to focus on the kids and my busy project at work, knowing she is well taken care of. I still go to her chemo treatments, just not every one! Thank you all for your continued prayers...may you also be blessed!
Our big boy just celebrated a birthday and mom even felt well enough to bake him a cake!! Her hands were too shaking, so she didn't write anything but he loved it - truly felt special that his grandma was able to do that.
