Happy Halloween!!
I sat here today and just couldn't believe that we are at Halloween, which means that is was a year ago that Papa left us to be in Seattle for training...and that we followed shortly behind him! What a year it has been! We have had our struggles, that is for sure, but as we get settled more and more we truly love this city!! We have decided to hold off for another 6 to 8 months on purchasing a house and will stay where we are until we find the perfect home! Despite having one of the highest unemployment rates, Portland has one of the strongest housing market...so we haven't found the deal that is right for us!!
I missed sharing Monster's birthday with all of you! He had a wonderful time celebrating with his cousins that came down from Seattle! We went out for a great family lunch and then for dinner went to a large play area, where they all got to run out some energy! We, of course, did our traditional birthday breakfast for him...and as you can see, he loved it!
We decided that we were not going to have the kids go trick or treaing this year - with the threat of H1N1 I didn't want to risk the kids touching all sorts of stuff (or eating candy) from potentially sick people! We did have plans to meet some friends for dinner where the kids would have arts and crafts to do and then a parade within the restaurant...well, Puddin' woke up in the middle of the night not feeling well and sure enough it got worse as the day progressed. So we had to cancel our plans and stay home! Peanut was bummed, but she absolutely understood and was a trooper about the whole thing. I didn't want the day to go by without a picture and I didn't ask Puddin' to get her costume on, but she really wanted to - so here we have Jasmine, the witch, and the dinosaur!!
The girls each had a party at their school, and got plenty of goodies - so they are perfectly fine with all that they have! ;-) Have a great week everyone.
